Description: The JOHN WESLEY was built in 1872 by Bailey Brothers at Toledo, OH U.S. The John Wesley is a wood hulled schooner with a length of 135 feet, and a width of 26 feet. It displaces 302 tons, and has a load capacity of 287 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Stranded at Sand Beach, MI, Lake Huron, on September 7, 1901, and became total loss. Final enrollment surrendered at Port Huron, MI, June 19, 1902. The photograph shows the John Wesley under way on the Great Lakes. More information about this vessel is available at the HCGL Website
