Description: The CORONA was built in 1888 by Globe Iron Works at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Corona is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 299 feet, and a width of 40 feet. It displaces 2408 tons, and has a load capacity of 1828 tons. It entered service in the year 1888 under the ownership of Mutual Transportation Co. of Escanaba (M.A. Hanna Co., Mgrs.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sunk as blockship at Dieppe, France by Royal British Navy on June 10, 1940.
