The WILLIAM P. COWAN was built in 1918 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The William P. Cowan is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 420 feet, and a width of 55 feet. It displaces 5429 tons, and has a load capacity of 3962 tons. It entered service in the year 1918 under the ownership of Standard Oil Co. (IN) of Whiting, IN U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold to D.M. & W.
