Description: The FRANK H. PEAVEY was built in 1901 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Frank H. Peavey is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 430 feet, and a width of 50 feet. It displaces 5002 tons, and has a load capacity of 3871 tons. It entered service in the year 1901 under the ownership of Peavey Steamship Co. (Augustus B. Wolvin, Mgr.) of Duluth, MN U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Struck the south pier while entering Sheboygan, WI, and sank on November 13, 1934. Unloaded, floated, and declared constructive total loss. Scrapped at Sturgeon Bay, WI, in 1935. The photograph shows the Frank H. Peavey under way on the Great Lakes.
