Description: The HURON CITY was built in 1867 by George Fordham at Sandusky, OH U.S. The Huron City is a propeller driven vessel with a length of 167 feet, and a width of 29 feet. It displaces 368 tons, and has a load capacity of 277 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Destroyed by fire, 1917, at Sandwich, Ontario. The photograph shows the Huron City under way on the Great Lakes. More information about this vessel is available at the HCGL Website
