Description: The WILLIAM A. ROGERS was built in 1905 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The William A. Rogers is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 525 feet, and a width of 55 feet. It displaces 6524 tons, and has a load capacity of 5101 tons. It entered service in the year 1905 under the ownership of Tonawanda Iron & Steel Co. of North Tonawanda, NY U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Scrapped by Steel Co. of Canada, Ltd., Hamilton, Ont., in 1948. After lying in Erie, PA, 1945-1946, passed down, Port Colborne, June 9, 1946, in tow of tugs A.M. MCAULEY and DALHOUSIE ROVER, bound for Hamilton, Ontario. The photograph shows the William A.
