dc.description The SANDY was built in 1940 by Great Lakes Engineering Works at Ashtabula, OH U.S. The Sandy is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 37 feet, and a width of 11 feet. It displaces 14 tons, and has a load capacity of 5 tons. It entered service in the year 1940 under the ownership of Pittsburg Steamship Co. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The photograph shows the Sandy at Ashtabula, OH.
