dc.description The RHODE ISLAND was built in 1930 by Great Lakes Towing Co. at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Rhode Island is a steel hulled tug with a length of 78 feet, and a width of 20 feet. It displaces 94 tons, and has a load capacity of 32 tons. It entered service in the year 1930 under the ownership of Great Lakes Towing Co. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The photograph shows the Rhode Island under way on the Great Lakes.
