Description: The BRIGHTIE was built in 1868 by Ira Lafrinnier at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Brightie is a wood hulled schooner with 3 masts, a length of 182 feet, and a width of 33 feet. It displaces 600 tons, and has a load capacity of 570 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Foundered with load of pulpwood, off Whitehall, MI, Lake Michigan, August 23, 1928, in seventy-five feet of water; no lives lost.
