Description: The JAMES A. FARRELL was built in 1913 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The James A. Farrell is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 580 feet, and a width of 58 feet. It displaces 7705 tons, and has a load capacity of 5967 tons. It entered service in the year 1913 under the ownership of Pittsburgh Steamship Co. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold for scrapping at Duluth, MN. Removed from documentation in August, 1978. The photograph shows the James A. Farrell at Downbound, Detroit River. More information about this vessel is available at the HCGL Website
