Description: The LAKE COMO was built in 1917 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Lake Como is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 251 feet, and a width of 43 feet. It displaces 2018 tons, and has a load capacity of 1248 tons. It entered service in the year 1917 under the ownership of U.S. Shipping Board of Boston, MA U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Wrecked near Cape Bauld, Nova Scotia, December 8, 1940, bound from Lewisport for Sydney, Nova Scotia.
