The VERMONT was built in 1853 by Joseph M. Keating at Huron, OH U.S. The Vermont is a wood hulled schooner with 2 masts, a length of 87 feet, and a width of 20 feet. It displaces 113 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Foundered off Escanaba, MI, Lake Michigan, September 7, 1903. The photograph shows the Vermont under way on the Great Lakes.
