The MACKINAC ISLANDER was built in 1958 by Hans Hansen Welding Co. at Toledo, OH U.S. The Mackinac Islander is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 65 feet, and a width of 25 feet. It displaces 70 tons, and has a load capacity of 48 tons. It entered service in the year 1958 under the ownership of Arnold Transit Co. of Mackinac Island, MI U.S. The photograph shows the Mackinac Islander under way on the Great Lakes.
