dc.description The PACIFIC was built in 1864 by Peck & Masters at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Pacific is a wood hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 186 feet, and a width of 28 feet. It displaces 616 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Driven ashore near Deer Park, MI, Lake Superior, November 16, 1887, with cargo of lumber for Michigan City, IN. No lives lost. The photograph shows the Pacific under way on the Great Lakes.
