Description: The HENRY A. HAWGOOD was built in 1906 by American Ship Building Co. at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Henry A. Hawgood is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 532 feet, and a width of 56 feet. It displaces 6839 tons, and has a load capacity of 5389 tons. It entered service in the year 1906 under the ownership of Minerva Steamship Co. (W.A. & H.A. Hawgood, Mgrs.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold for scrapping in September 1985. Scrapped by Siderurgica Aco Norte S.A. of Recife, Brazil, October, 1986. The photograph shows the Henry A. Hawgood under way on the Great Lakes.
