Description: The ROMAN was built in 1891 by Globe Iron Works at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Roman is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 296 feet, and a width of 40 feet. It displaces 2348 tons, and has a load capacity of 1875 tons. It entered service in the year 1891 under the ownership of Menominee Transit Co. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Dropped from registration, 1925; presumed scrapped in Europe.
