The LAKE SANFORD was built in 1918 by Great Lakes Engineering Works at Ashtabula, OH U.S. The Lake Sanford is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 253 feet, and a width of 43 feet. It displaces 2232 tons, and has a load capacity of 1357 tons. It entered service in the year 1918 under the ownership of U.S. Shipping Board of Washington, DC U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Scrapped by Ford Motor Co. at River Rouge, MI, in 1927. The photograph shows the Lake Sanford under way on the Great Lakes.
