Description: The HUGH KENNEDY was built in 1907 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Hugh Kennedy is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 532 feet, and a width of 56 feet. It displaces 7064 tons, and has a load capacity of 5500 tons. It entered service in the year 1907 under the ownership of Buffalo Steamship Co. (John Mitchell, Mgr.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold to Marine Salvage, Ltd., Port Colborne, Ontario, and resold to C.N. Santa Maria. Departed Quebec under tow on June 27, 1980, and scrapping began at LaSpezia, Italy, on July 29, 1980. The photograph shows the Hugh Kennedy at Point Edward, Ont.
