dc.description The JOSEPH G. BUTLER JR. was built in 1905 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Joseph G. Butler Jr. is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 525 feet, and a width of 55 feet. It displaces 6588 tons, and has a load capacity of 5174 tons. It entered service in the year 1905 under the ownership of Pioneer Steamship Co. (Hutchinson & Co., Mgrs.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Towed from Toronto to Hamilton, Ont., June 30, 1971, by tugs LAC MANITOBA and ARGUE MARTIN, to United Metals, Ltd. Hull stripped of cabins and scuttled, along with HENRY R. PLATT, JR., at Steel Co. of Canada plant, Burlington Bay, Hamilton, Ont., as breakwater and fill. The photograph shows the Joseph G.
