The ERNEST T. WEIR was built in 1953 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Ernest T. Weir is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 671 feet, and a width of 70 feet. It displaces 12746 tons, and has a load capacity of 7968 tons. It entered service in the year 1953 under the ownership of National Steel Corp. (Hanna Mining Co., Mgrs.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The photograph shows the Ernest T. Weir under way on the Great Lakes.
