The ROBERT R. RHODES was built in 1887 by Thomas Sons Quayle's at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Robert R. Rhodes is a wood hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 246 feet, and a width of 40 feet. It displaces 1576 tons, and has a load capacity of 1286 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Struck upper gates to Lock 3, Welland Canal, October 24, 1921, and sank. Raised and towed into Lake Ontario; scuttled in rifle range east of Port Dalhousie, Ontario. The photograph shows the Robert R. Rhodes under way on the Great Lakes.
