Description: The BUNKER HILL was built in 1837 by F.N. Jones at Charleston (Black River), OH U.S. The Bunker Hill is a wood hulled steamer with a length of 154 feet, and a width of 28 feet. It displaces 457 tons. It entered service under the ownership of Walter Joy of Buffalo, NY U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Burned to water's edge at dock, Tonawanda, NY, September 2, 1851.
