Description: The JOE S. MORROW was built in 1907 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Joe S. Morrow is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 420 feet, and a width of 52 feet. It displaces 4895 tons, and has a load capacity of 3606 tons. It entered service in the year 1907 under the ownership of Masaba Steamship Co. (Joseph Sellwood, Mgr.) of Duluth, MN U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Passed east at Tracy, P.Q., in tow of tugs JAMES BATTLE and C.O. PARADISE, December 7, 1973, bound for Quebec. Arrived in tow, in tandem with HENRY LALIBERTE, at Santander, Spain, on May 8, 1974, for scrapping. Removed from documentation in September, 1976, as sold Canadian for scrapping. The photograph shows the Joe S. Morrow under way on the Great Lakes.
