Description: The ANN ARBOR NO. 5 was built in 1910 by Toledo Ship Building Co. at Toledo, OH U.S. The Ann Arbor No. 5 is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 360 feet, and a width of 56 feet. It displaces 2884 tons, and has a load capacity of 1961 tons. It entered service in the year 1910 under the ownership of Empire Trust Co. (Ann Arbor Railroad Co., Mgrs.) of New York, NY U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Out of documentation in Spring, 1969. Sunk as temporary breakwater at Palisades (South Haven), MI. Broke up during winter, 1969-1970. In summer, 1970, hull was clam-shelled out and scrapped.
