The D.R. HANNA was built in 1906 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The D.R. Hanna is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 532 feet, and a width of 56 feet. It displaces 7023 tons, and has a load capacity of 5491 tons. It entered service in the year 1906 under the ownership of Pioneer Steamship Co. (Hutchinson & Co., Mgrs.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sunk in collision with steamer QUINCY A. SHAW, in fog six miles NE x E of Thunder Bay Island, Light, Lake Huron; May 16, 1919, was downbound with 375,000 bushels of wheat. Hull located by divers in October, 1919, in 90 feet of water.
