The NORTH LAND was built in 1895 by Globe Iron Works at Cleveland, OH U.S. The North Land is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 358 feet, and a width of 44 feet. It displaces 4244 tons, and has a load capacity of 2339 tons. It entered service in the year 1895 under the ownership of Northern Steamship Co. of Buffalo, NY U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Cut into two sections in winter, 1918-1919, and transited Welland Canal, to be joined at Lauzon, P.Q., for World War I. Was never joined; cut up for scrap at Lauzon in 1921. The photograph shows the North Land under way on the Great Lakes.
