Description: The ANN ARBOR NO. 1 was built in 1892 by Craig Shipbuilding Co. at Toledo, OH U.S. The Ann Arbor No. 1 is a wood hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 260 feet, and a width of 53 feet. It displaces 1127 tons, and has a load capacity of 563 tons. It entered service in the year 1892 under the ownership of Ann Arbor Railway Co. of Frankfort, MI U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Totally destroyed by fire at Manitowoc, WI, on March 7, 1910. Hull reportedly sold to Love Construction Co., Muckegon, MI, and reduced to unregistered sand scow. The photograph shows the Ann Arbor No. 1 under way on the Great Lakes.
