dc.description The RENOWN was built in 1912 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The Renown is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 373 feet, and a width of 52 feet. It displaces 4154 tons, and has a load capacity of 2098 tons. It entered service in the year 1912 under the ownership of Standard Oil Co. of Whiting, IN U.S. The photograph shows the Renown at St. Marys River.
