Description: The WILLIAM A. PAINE was built in 1905 by American Ship Building Co. at Cleveland, OH U.S. The William A. Paine is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 480 feet, and a width of 52 feet. It displaces 5798 tons, and has a load capacity of 4435 tons. It entered service in the year 1905 under the ownership of Pioneer Steamship Co. (Hutchinson and Co., Mgrs.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold to Marine Salvage, Ltd., Port Colborne, Ont., in May, 1961, for scrapping.
