Description: The I.U. MASTERS was built in 1862 by Peck & Masters at Cleveland, OH U.S. The I.U. Masters is a wood hulled tug with a length of 102 feet, and a width of 20 feet. It displaces 203 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Burned to a total loss at Texas Landing, just above Amherstburg, Ontario, Detroit River, on November 17, 1884. Final enrollment surrendered at Detroit, MI, December 21, 1884. The photograph shows the I.U. Masters under way on the Great Lakes. More information about this vessel is available at the HCGL Website
