The SUPERIOR was built in 1890 by Cleveland Dry Dock Co. at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Superior is a wood hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 98 feet, and a width of 29 feet. It displaces 251 tons, and has a load capacity of 167 tons. It entered service in the year 1890 under the ownership of Duluth-Superior Steamship Co. (M.H. Murch, Mgr.) of Duluth, MN U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Burned at head of Stag Island, St. Clair River, May 6, 1920, and beached on west side of island.
