Description: The WABASH was built in 1927 by Toledo Ship Building Co. at Toledo, OH U.S. The Wabash is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 366 feet, and a width of 57 feet. It displaces 3366 tons, and has a load capacity of 2023 tons. It entered service in the year 1926 under the ownership of Wabash Railway Co. of Detroit, MI U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold to Marine Salvage, Ltd., in 1974, for scrapping in Spain. Removed from documentation in May/June, 1974. Arrived in tandem tow with ROCKET, on August 1, 1974, at Castellon, Spain, for scrapping. The photograph shows the Wabash under way on the Great Lakes.
