The LOUIS R. DAVIDSON was built in 1912 by Great Lakes Engineering Works at Ashtabula, OH U.S. The Louis R. Davidson is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 504 feet, and a width of 56 feet. It displaces 6356 tons, and has a load capacity of 4996 tons. It entered service in the year 1912 under the ownership of American Steamship Co. (Boland & Cornelius, Mgrs.) of Buffalo, NY U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold to a Spanish firm for scrapping in the summer of 1979. Departed Quebec on July 6, 1979, in tandem tow with AVONDALE, and Polish tug JANTAR. Arrived at Castellon, Spain, on August 3, 1979, for scrapping. The photograph shows the Louis R.
