Description: The COWANSHANNOCK was built in 1919 by Great Lakes Engineering Works at Ashtabula, OH U.S. The Cowanshannock is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 253 feet, and a width of 43 feet. It displaces 2532 tons, and has a load capacity of 1514 tons. It entered service in the year 1919 under the ownership of U.S. Shipping Board of Washington, DC U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Stranded and sank ten miles from Terres, Rio Grande de Sul, on July 31, 1952.
