Description: The D.R. MARTIN was built in 1857 by Quayle & Martin at Cleveland, OH U.S. The D.R. Martin is a wood hulled schooner with 2 masts, a length of 138 feet, and a width of 30 feet. It displaces 465 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Driven ashore and broke in two on Devil's Island, Ontario, Georgian Bay, on November 2, 1904, with cargo of coal from Toledo, OH, for Owen Sound, Ontario; no lives lost.
