dc.description The MAIZE was built in 1856 by Gilmore at Perrysburg, OH U.S. The Maize is a wood hulled schooner with 2 masts, a length of 135 feet, and a width of 26 feet. It displaces 356 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Appears in 1920 Canadian List of Shipping but not in the 1923 List. Disposition unknown. The photograph shows the Maize under way on the Great Lakes.
