Description: The R.E. SCHUCK was built in 1903 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The R.E. Schuck is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 416 feet, and a width of 50 feet. It displaces 4713 tons, and has a load capacity of 3384 tons. It entered service in the year 1903 under the ownership of Gilchrist Transportation Co. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Foundered in "Big Storm" of November 9-13, 1913, on Lake Huron, with all hands; 24 lives lost.
