Description: The CHARLES S. HEBARD was built in 1906 by American Ship Building Co. at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Charles S. Hebard is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 504 feet, and a width of 54 feet. It displaces 6291 tons, and has a load capacity of 4854 tons. It entered service in the year 1906 under the ownership of Wilson Transit Co. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold for use as dock, along with AMASA STONE, at Charlevoix, MI, in 1965, at cement plant. Pilothouse placed on top of Goldfine's Department Store, Duluth, MN. The photograph shows the Charles S. Hebard under way on the Great Lakes.
