The QUEEN CITY was built in 1896 by Cleveland Ship Building Co. at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Queen City is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 401 feet, and a width of 48 feet. It displaces 3979 tons, and has a load capacity of 3198 tons. It entered service in the year 1896 under the ownership of Zenith Transit Co. (A.B. Wolvin, Mgr.) of Duluth, MN U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Scrapped by Steel Co. of Canada, Ltd., Hamilton, Ontario, in 1947. After lying at Erie, PA, 1945-1946, passed down, Port Colborne, October 15, 1946, in tow of tugs HELENA and ATOMIC, bound for Hamilton, Ontario. The photograph shows the Queen City at Ashtabula, OH.
