The WILLIAM D. CRAWFORD was built in 1914 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The William D. Crawford is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 504 feet, and a width of 54 feet. It displaces 6385 tons, and has a load capacity of 4899 tons. It entered service in the year 1914 under the ownership of Virginia Steamship Co. (M.A. Hanna Co., Mgr.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold to Hyman-Michaels Co., and arrived at Duluth, MN, October 13, 1967, for scrapping.
