The L.P. SMITH was built in 1894 by Globe Iron Works at Cleveland, OH U.S. The L.P. Smith is a steel hulled tug with a length of 67 feet, and a width of 18 feet. It displaces 73 tons, and has a load capacity of 36 tons. It entered service in the year 1894 under the ownership of L.P. and J.A. Smith of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Scrapped in 1951. The photograph shows the L.P. Smith under way on the Great Lakes.
