dc.description The JAMES W. BENNETT was built in 1874 by John Squires at Huron, OH U.S. The James W. Bennett is a wood hulled tug with a length of 87 feet, and a width of 17 feet. It displaces 81 tons, and has a load capacity of 40 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Wrecked at Edwards Inlet, Black Bay, north of Porphyry Light, Lake Superior, on October 15, 1915. The photograph shows the James W.
