Description: The WILLIAM A. AMBERG was built in 1917 by American Ship Building Co. at Lorain, OH U.S. The William A. Amberg is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 525 feet, and a width of 58 feet. It displaces 7031 tons, and has a load capacity of 5641 tons. It entered service in the year 1917 under the ownership of M. A. Hanna Co. Mgrs. of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Turned over to Port Maitland Shipbreaking, Ltd., at Toronto, Ontario, May 1, 1984, for scrapping at Port Maitland, Ontario, The photograph shows the William A.
