Description: The GEORGE PRESLEY was built in 1889 by Cleveland Dry Dock Co. at Cleveland, OH U.S. The George Presley is a wood hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 265 feet, and a width of 41 feet. It displaces 1936 tons, and has a load capacity of 1602 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Burned off Washington Island, Green Bay, on June 26, 1905. Final enrollment surrendered at Cleveland, OH, December 20, 1905. Hull towed to Sturgeon Bay, WI, on June 18, 1906. The photograph shows the George Presley under way on the Great Lakes.
