Description: The CUMBERLAND was built in 1881 by Thomas and Sons Quayle at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Cumberland is a wood hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 251 feet, and a width of 38 feet. It displaces 1601 tons, and has a load capacity of 1280 tons. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Reported beached and out of commission near Levis, Quebec, in April, 1924. The photograph shows the Cumberland at Manitowoc, WI; at Flour Dock. More information about this vessel is available at the HCGL Website
