The SPEAR was built in 1904 by Henry D. Root at Lorain, OH (completed at Toledo, OH) U.S. The Spear is a wood hulled tug with a length of 85 feet, and a width of 20 feet. It displaces 160 tons. It entered service in the year 1904 under the ownership of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers of Cleveland District, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Abandoned in 1937.
