Description: The HENDRICK S. HOLDEN was built in 1898 by Globe Iron Works at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Hendrick S. Holden is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 408 feet, and a width of 50 feet. It displaces 4444 tons, and has a load capacity of 3091 tons. It entered service in the year 1898 under the ownership of Etna Steamship Co. (John Mitchell, Mgr.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sold in December, 1965, to Marine Salvage, Ltd., Port Colborne, Ontario. Arrived for scrapping by Steel Co. of Canada, Ltd., at Hamilton, Ontario, on July 1, 1966. The photograph shows the Hendrick S. Holden under way on the Great Lakes.
