Description: The LAKE GEORGE was built in 1917 by Great Lakes Engineering Works at Ashtabula, OH U.S. The Lake George is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 253 feet, and a width of 43 feet. It displaces 2486 tons, and has a load capacity of 1782 tons. It entered service in the year 1917 under the ownership of U.S. Shipping Board of Washington, DC U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Torpedoed and sunk on May 29, 1943, in position 17.35N x 110.45E.
