Description: The WILLIAM H. DONNER was built in 1914 by Great Lakes Engineering Works at Ashtabula, OH U.S. The William H. Donner is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 504 feet, and a width of 54 feet. It displaces 6311 tons, and has a load capacity of 4843 tons. It entered service in the year 1914 under the ownership of Mahoning Steamship Co. (M.A. Hanna Co., Mgrs.) of Cleveland, OH U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Arrived at Milwaukee, WI, in tow of Roen tug JOHN PURVES, April 25, 1970, for use as floating dock.
