Description: The TUSCARORA was built in 1890 by Globe Iron Works at Cleveland, OH U.S. The Tuscarora is a steel hulled propeller driven vessel with a length of 291 feet, and a width of 40 feet. It displaces 2386 tons, and has a load capacity of 1679 tons. It entered service in the year 1890 under the ownership of Lehigh Valley Transportation Co. of Buffalo, NY U.S. The vessel was removed from service with the following notation: Sailed from Montreal, P.Q., December 6, 1917, and never heard of again; entire crew, thirty lives, lost.
